The year is already in its full swing, and if you have reduced your 2016 trends considerations only to fashion, you are mistaken. Fitness also changes and evolves during the years and whenever there are some new things or updates of old techniques on the horizon, we should give them the benefit of a doubt and check them out. Fortunately, there is something for everyone, from support groups to efficient workouts. The important thing is that they provide results. Here are five popular workout trends to try this year.
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) If you do not have enough time to actually be devoted to exercising, and you are willing to work very hard, then maybe HIIT is for you. It can shorten the time you are spending working out, but it will require for you to give your maximum.
What makes HIIT so efficient are its results, so do not give up if you are afraid of some intense activities. High-intensity does not mean that there is no resting involved. The training can be completed in just 15 minutes, but still have the same effects as an hour of jogging. Also, because the concept is so simple and you do not need any special equipment, you can adapt it according to your time and space.
Orangetheory Fitness (OTF) One of the most popular workout trends of the decade and a trend which we will see grow even bigger in 2016, so we can see no reason not to join the craze of Orangetheory Fitness.
The workout session consists out of three stadiums: running on a treadmill, sprinting on the indoor rowing machine and then strength training with dumbbells. The goal is to lead your heart rate straight into the orange zone (84 to 100 percent of its strength) and keep it there for 12 to 20 minutes.

Fitness Tribes Fitness buddy is so last year, now we have a fitness tribe. A tribe consists of two or more people teaming up in order to achieve fitness goals together. It is something like ‘a fitness support group’, which translates to keeping each other motivated and preventing each other from giving up. This is actually the easiest trend to keep up with. Just call some friends and family members and start working out together.
Functional Workouts Functional fitness workouts train your muscles to work together and emphasise core stability. The exercises are using muscles in both upper and lower part of the body at the same time. A good example of functional exercise is the squat – it trains your muscles for getting up and sitting down, thus preparing you for everyday tasks, while building your muscles.
Create a functional exercises routine by including workouts like squats (with dumbbells), plank, pushups and T-push ups, burpees, etc. When working out what matters the most to avoid injuries, pain and discomfort is wearing footwear designed especially for the gym, so that is why I recommend RyderWear shoes.

Bodyweight Training With all the YouTube tutorials offered for free, working out at home has become much more popular than ever before. Still, people are sometimes concerned, because, at home, they do not have the same equipment as in the gym.
Well, good news, all you need is your own weight. Bodyweight workouts are super-efficient, able to combine cardio and strength training, fat-burning magicians, challenging, good for the core strength, great for the flexibility and completely free. This way of working out has a lot of benefits even for the most experienced ones, but it is especially recommendable for newbies to resistance training.
If you are ready to try something new, these trends are just the things you needed to get back on the track or challenge yourself. Pick a one based on your physical preparedness and fitness preferences and break a sweat.
