Work It Out | Polar FT4 Review

Polar FT4

Ever since I joined the gym I have always been curious of that little monitor on each machine counting how many calories are burnt on each work out. I’ve seen it fluctuate so much; some machines even going so far as to indicate that I’ve burnt almost a thousand calories in a half an hour workout. To me, that simply could not be correct as there are so many other factors that go into how many calories you burn. Machines at the gym don’t have such functions to be as precise as I had hoped. Since starting working out from home (you can catch up with my Kayla Itsines home circuit workouts HERE I’ve wanted to see exactly how hard I’ve been pushing myself, and also the vital figure of how many calories I’ve burnt. This is where the Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor can be introduced nicely. View Post

Laser Eye Surgery Diary | Surgery

Laser eye surgery diary surgery

Two weeks ago I went along to Optical Express for a Laser Eye Surgery consultation, my laser eye surgery diary entry can be found HERE. I finally decided to take the plunge and be free from glasses and contact lenses. To go through any sort of surgery, especially one that is elective is a huge decision to make. But with this decision I was pretty sure it was one that I wasn’t going to regret!

My Laser Eye Surgery appointment was booked for Wednesday at 1.30pm at Optical Express in Harley Street. I took my other half, Ankit, with me as it is recommended you take someone with you to make sure you get home ok after the surgery. I woke up on Wednesday morning with mixed feelings about the surgery, I was both nervous and excited at the thought of going through with the surgery, though also slightly anxious for what was to come. During my consultation the ins and outs of the surgery wasn’t really explained to me in detail, though I think if it was explained to me, I would have chickened out! Laughing View Post

Gilgamesh London | Restaurant Review

Gilgamesh

If you follow me on Twitter you would have seen that I was out celebrating on Saturday Evening because of results that I had received, for working towards a professional qualification. Completely different to that of blogging though, that’s a different side of my life. To celebrate on Saturday, Ankit (my fiancé) and I went to Gilgamesh London a top restaurant in the heart of Camden, London that offers a unique selection of exotic signature Pan-Asian dishes. Gilgamesh use China, Japan and South East Asia as inspiration for many of their dishes. Booking our table in the private dining area, we were in an amazing restaurant that boasted an impressive 40ft high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling glass windows, which creates the most perfect ambience for dining.

Gilgamesh London is an award-winning internationally famous restaurant that has been around in Camden for around 9 years now. It’s one that I’ve always walked past when roaming around Camden Lock and the Stables Market but never gone in. No reason in particular for it, but now I had an excuse to get a table booked and finally experience the Pan-Asian restaurant cuisine. Gilgamesh London isn’t just a restaurant, it is home to multiple bar and lounge areas and a newly built champagne bar! View Post

Blog Birthday | One Year On

The Life Of Vanisha Birthday

One year ago I finally decided to take the plunge, after trawling through the internet reading blog after blog. I wanted a piece of that cake.I wanted a place that I could call my own, air my opinions and views, somewhere that was mine. And exactly that, was what encouraged me to get going with my blog. And it has been one hell of a journey one year on. I honestly didn’t think I would stick to keeping up with blog posts, or even hold out on keeping a blog. I’m guilty of being that person who starts something but never finishes. Yes, I know what you’re going to say, but it’s a bad quality of mine, and something I need to work on.

You can call this a self-reflection post, or maybe a post where I’m going to set myself goals (in relation to my blog), and try and rise to the challenge. One year on, I certainly want to set out some goals of where I want to take my blog and the ideas I have for my blog. After all, it is my little piece of the internet, and I should maximise it’s use. So here are my top blog goals for another great year running The Life Of Vanisha. View Post

Laser Eye Surgery Diary| Consultation

Laser Eye Surgery

It is not uncommon nowadays for people to wear glasses. In fact you’d be fairly lucky if you didn’t need glasses in some shape or form – whether that be reading glasses or permanently. Obviously there are also many different solutions to not needing glasses; you can opt for contact lenses which can be a temporary fix, or look for something a bit more permanent, like laser eye surgery. To some, any type of surgery can be nerve wrecking, which is a given. But for many, surgery can be viewed as a path to freedom Grin. View Post
