Work It Out | Workout Music Playlist – Throwback #1

Workout Wednesday

Getting a great workout in can be one thing, but having a great workout playlist to get your sweat on whilst working out can sometimes be a struggle. You never know how important it is to have a playlist that can pump you up, until you’re there, on the treadmill, trying to get the intensity as high as your body can handle. I am endlessly sitting on YouTube listening to music which I can purchase or add to my Spotify playlist to hep me get in the workout mood whilst at the gym. View Post

Wedding Diaries | Plan A Wedding On A Budget #3

Plan A Wedding On A Budget

With my wedding now being just under a year away (time has literally gone by so quickly), there is still so much that I need to book, research and plan for. It’s a wonder how I will actually find time to get any of my wedding planning done with the little time I do have. I know what a lot of people, including my parents are saying, a year is a very long time. But in Wedding terms, a year is next to nothing, it’s no time at all! Considering there is communication chains that need to be tackled from one supplier to another, research needs to be done on prices and where to get the best deal, time does get consumed fairly quickly.

It isn’t just time that proves to be a problem when wedding planning, the cost of weddings can steep up fairly quickly too, with every additional extra reducing the amount that is left in the wedding fund pot at the end of it all.  I’ve currently been thinking of so many ways to try and plan my wedding whilst keeping the cost down. Both Ankit (my fiancé) and I have stable full time jobs, own a property and have two needy cats to look after, therefore budgeting for our wedding is essential. But, admittedly, we have seen the cost of our wedding (and the budget) rise up and up since we first started planning. There are so many special and innovative things we want to add to our wedding and share with our guests, it’s difficult to prioritise what we want and what we need. That’s really what it comes down to isn’t it? Both of us thought that by not having the 5 day Indian wedding event (my reasoning for this can be found HERE), the cost was going to be almost halved. We were so very mistaken. So how exactly can we plan a wedding on a budget? Well exactly that will be shared in my Wedding Diaries series, part 3. View Post

Beauty Hacks | Make Nail Polish Last Longer

Mail Nails last longer

Creating different looks on your nails can not only be a tasking exercise, but can be a great pampering session itself. I regularly change up my nail colour, and utilise Sunday’s as a perfect day to have an hour or so to myself to get my nails on point. However, after a few days you can find that your nails may have a few chips on the colour, and sometimes this can be a bit disheartening. After spending an hour or so doing your nails, the last thing you want is for the colour to disappear only after a few days.

Usually I would expect my nail colour to at least last me the week, and that’s after putting a top coat on top. So to help stop this from happening, I’ve put a list together of ways to help make nail polish last longer, so your hand jewels are looking perfect just like the first day of colour. View Post

Get More Zzz’s | How To Get Better Sleep

coffee-cup-bed-bedroom-large

Modern day sleep routines have been known to be a routine which is no longer that important to us any more, with most of us not even getting our recommended hours of sleep a day. It’s generally recommended that we get about 9 hours of quality sleep a day to help us focus on tasks the next day, wind down, and actually wake up on the right side of the bed everyday! There is nothing worse than waking up super grumpy the next day because your sleep has been interrupted or your just haven’t had enough.

I for one am guilty of not getting enough sleep on a regular basis, and there’s only one thing that keeps me going everyday – coffee. Latte’s, Cappuccinos, Americanos you name it. So I think it’s amount time we aim to wind down, and drift away with a better nights sleep. So here are a few of my ways as to how to get better sleep. View Post

Laser Eye Surgery Diary | Two Week Update

As I haven’t posted an update on my Laser Eye Surgery Diary since my surgery day, which can be found HERE, I thought I’d post a short update on how things are going two weeks after my surgery. I mentioned in my surgery update that I was due to go back to Optical Express the day after, and one week after my surgery day just to check everything was A Ok. After the first week of recovery I did notice that my eyes were no longer improving as quickly as they had done the day after my surgery.

Though, I did expect this as the biggest improvement in your vision is seen after the surgery day itself. Following this, I noticed that my vision wasn’t as clear as I would have hoped, and my vision was still blurry. Now this might just be me being really picky, and I can’t really complain as I no longer need to grab my glasses to see – I can actually see perfectly without needing to wear glasses, however, it’s more when I’m trying to read signs. Like when I’m travelling to work, I can’t see the signs in the underground that well.

As my prescription was relatively high, this doesn’t come to a surprise to me as it can sometimes take up to 3 months for your vision to fully restore. And for now, it honestly doesn’t feel like I’m blind, I can go about my day to day life. The staff at Optical Express however, were very helpful during the consultations and check ups, and would happily answer all questions asked. It was nice to also ask questions to staff who had gone through the procedures, as they know what you are going through.

I have another consultation booked for 2 weeks time, so hopefully there will be some improvement to my vision.
