Garnier Ultimate Blends

Garnier Ultimate Blends

I’ve been trying out a few new shampoos recently, and after using the L’oreal Paris Extraordinary Clay hair care range recently, I wanted to give the Garnier Ultimate Blends a trial. I’ve always been a firm believer of changing up my shampoo and conditioner routine and products every so often. I myself can’t use the same product over and over again, especially as there are so many new and great products that are being released. To me, why should my hair have to have the same routine time after time?

Now, the minstrels in the picture aside – don’t they just draw your eye into the picture?, I’ve seen the Garnier Ultimate Blends range pop up everywhere. There are so many different mixtures of flavours and scents within the hair care range that I found it difficult to narrow it down to just one scent at a time. Admittedly, I rarely use Garnier products on my hair – I’ve always been a L’oreal or Aussie shampoo kind of girl, though, from browsing the full product range I certainly welcomed the chance to try something different.

The Garnier Ultimate Blends range reinforces blends that are known to be indulgent fragrances to many – think coconut oil, honey, cocoa butter. Even the idea of having your hair smell like any of these ingredients is enough to make you want to purchase each one. They’re fragrances and mixtures that are known to be amazing for you if you are trying to follow a natural beauty routine.

Garnier Ultimate Blends conditioner

I picked this particular fragrance – which is Coconut Oil & Cocoa Butter purely because of the smell of the two ingredients together. I do the usual grab a bottle and sniff them whenever I’m in Boots, and this was the one I was drawn too. The Cocoa Butter overpowers over the coconut, which I prefer any ways, as it reminds me of chocolate. It does have a sort of Bounty smell to it, as there are subtle hues of the coconut.

I use the shampoo and conditioner together, as this is what’s recommended if you want to have an overall sleek look and feel. The Coconut Oil & Cocoa Butter ultimate blends is particular for those who do suffer from frizzy and dry hair, and want some shine and oomph restored back into your hair from roots to end.

My hair is quite thick and very long, and sometimes it does take a bit of work to get shampoos and conditioners to lather up well. If you also have thick, long hair, you don’t really need to use much of this product to get the right consistency. I also found by leaving the shampoo on my hair for a few minutes, before washing off, my hair was almost instantly smoother.

Normally when I’m drying my hair, rather than blow drying my hair, my hair is fairly tangled and it takes a good 10 minutes with a tangle teezer to help smoothen things out. After using, both, the shampoo and conditioner it took just under half the time.

Garnier Ultimate Blends shampoo

The two downsides with the Ultimate Blends is that my hair only stayed clean enough for about 2 days, bear in mind this is with me styling my hair differently everyday, without it looking like it needed a wash. As my hair is darker, it’s difficult to hide when I haven’t had time to wash my hair so I would have preferred my hair to last another day, as it does with other products.

I also found that the smell of the shampoo and conditioner didn’t last the entirety of the 2 days. That gorgeous coconut oil and cocoa butter concoction disappeared after less than a day. It would have been nice if the scent had lasted a bit longer, and stayed within my roots.

This hasn’t put me off trying the other scents from the Garnier Ultimate Blends range, as overall I really loved how it helped restore the health of my hair.

Other scents I’d like to try from the range are The Silky Smoother with Madagascan Vanilla milk and Brazilian Papaya extracts and the Colour Illuminator Shampoo blended with Moroccan Argan Oil and North American Cranberry extracts.

Garnier Ultimate Blends retail at around £2.79 and can be purchased from Boots.

Have you tried any of the Garnier Ultimate Blends range?

I do the same! Before I buy any shampoo or conditioner I smell them haha and definitely I would love these two but since I have thin hair probably I would end up with greasy hair next day… Maybe if I use just the conditioner… hm I really love sweet scents!!

    xx
