Since I can remember I have always wanted to go to USA. It’s always been a place that has had an aura of enchantment. If I wanted something of an experience I would visit Alaska to see the Northern Lights. Or if I wanted to head to the beach I’d make my way to Miami. But if you truly wanted to go somewhere magical you’d head to Disney World – Orland, Florida. Taking the plunge and booking my tickets, and a motel on International Drive, at 24 I finally decided it was time to go to the happiest place on earth. An 11 day trip, I set about venturing through all 4 of the Disney World parks.
Magical Kingdom is truly like it’s been taken straight out of a fairy-tale. With Cinderella’s castle overlooking the entire park, shows by well-loved Disney characters performed get everyone in the all-singing-all-dancing Disney mood. I soon found myself mimicking routines within the energetic parades! In Disney World, you don’t need an excuse! It’s a park for all ages, for Children it’s somewhere to meet their favourite characters for photo opportunities, for adults it’s a chance to re-live our childhoods, and take on some of the roller-coasters at the same time.
Epcot is a newer park, themed as more of an international park with realms and showcasing some of the best technological innovations and advances over the years. The main feature in Epcot is Soarin’ – taking flight and “hang-gliding” over landscapes within the USA. It’s a perfect snippet of landmarks added with exhilaration.
Hollywood Studios is a great little park for those who want to see “how it’s made”, and the history behind Disney. It was a real eye-opener to see the figurines of what Walt Disney had as his vision for the Magical Kingdom. There were life-size models of Walt Disney’s office back when Disney first starting production, to where they have come now. Featuring 8 separate sections from Pixar Place to Hollywood Avenue it really is a park showcasing the glitz and Glamour of the Golden Age.
Animal Kingdom is actually one of the largest animal theme parks in the word, with jungle trails and scavenger hunts. It almost felt like I was walking through a Zoo as opposed to a theme park, although I was forced to face my fears by entering the “It’s Tough To Be A Bug!” attraction.
For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to jump onto an aeroplane, and prance around Disney World with my Minnie mouse ears and be a big-kid in a place that seemed like a whole new world (noticed what I did there?!). You’re never too old to visit Disney World, and it’s certainly a once in a lifetime experience. Heading there from when the park opened to when it closed, watching the evening light parade, and the fireworks extravaganza projected onto the castle made it ever more magical. It was truly #MyTravelMemory.
I nominate Soeurs de luxe, Pao Love Fashion and Tania to share theirs.
