Bannatyne Spa Entrance

Relaxation is something that is so important; we need to have at least one day a week to ourselves to relax in some sort of way. Whether that be by having a pamper session, having some time to ourselves to go to a yoga or pilates class, or just booking ourselves in for a Spa Day.

After I finished my exams, I was treated to a day booked at the Bannatyne Spa in Fairfield by my fiancé. He really must have known that I needed nothing more than a day  to ourselves where we could be looked after and pampered, whilst enjoying massages and facials. Albeit it wasn’t really his sort of thing, but being the dutiful fiancé he is, he agreed to come along with me for the day.

It was about an hour drive from where we lived, but it didn’t really take that long for us to get to as all the roads were clear. The drive itself was a great set up to the day ahead and we needed to drive through the countryside to get to the spa. Perfectly located in a secluded and hidden leafy location, the Bannatyne Spa in Fairfield set the ambience from the get go as alleviating. With plenty of customer parking space, in a private car park, there wasn’t any trouble getting to the location. The Bannatyne Spa in Fairfield is one of the newer Bannatyne’s Spa introduced by the group, and is encompassed within a large estate building. It’s always nice when a building, especially one that is a spa, has a lot of the original features still within the building. It just adds a completely different atmosphere to the building, instead of being fully renovated into a newer more modern building.

The reception area is perfectly carved with the Bannatyne logo, which focuses purely on well-being and pure relaxation throughout. The Bannatyne Spa in Fairfield not only uses Bannatyne products within the spa, but also Elemis treatments all under one roof. As soon as you check in at reception, you are offered a chance to hire robes, slippers and a locker key. It was just convenient for us both to do this, and at £3 per person, it didn’t really break the bank. The robes and locker key need to be returned at the end of the visit, however the slippers do not. You are also given a teal green Bannatyne Spa tote bag to take home.

You need to fill in a few forms for health and safety, which we printed off and completed before our visit. This is kept by the reception staff and used by the spa staff when completing the treatments to target areas of worry. Once through reception, you can either lounge in the seated area before your treatment, or you can lie along relaxation balcony on mosaic tiled heated loungers.

We were then greeted by the treatment staff who led us to one of the six treatment rooms. With a smell of lavender flowing thorough the room, and atypical relaxation music playing in the background, it was really enough to get you in the mood already. The treatment staff at the Bannatyne Spa in Fairfield asked us to undress, and gave us the privacy we needed. As we were both on a couples spa day, we were in a dual treatment room so we had the treatment together, with individual staff. Both Ankit and I went for the neck, shoulder and back massage and energising facials. Using their elbows, fingers and hands with different relaxation techniques and oils I received the best massage I’ve ever received. Honestly, I almost fell asleep whilst they were massaging me, it was that relaxing!

After the treatment, we were offered an ice cold glass of water, and then given a tour around the spa. Kitted out with a state of the art gym, virtual classes, separate male/female saunas, joint steam rooms, hot tubs and heated pools.

The Bannatyne Spa in Fairfield also has an in house cafe located within it called The Orchard. To be honest, I wasn’t really impressed by the quality of the food within The Orchard, and for what it was, it was fairly over-priced.

Even though we both went on the weekend for our treatment, the Spa was not too busy which was a plus.

A couples day at Bannatyne Spa in Fairfield costs £97, and is a thorough recommendation if you need a day away.
