If you follow me on Twitter then you will know that I had an over-indulgent 11 day trip to sunny Florida. The U.S. is somewhere I have wanted to go to for as long as I know. And of course, a visit to Disney World was much needed. I’m a big kid at heart. As you can imagine, the food portions in Florida are humongous, and with so many different items on the menu, it’s only natural to want to try each one. So coming back to London, the first thing that was on my mind was getting back to being body confident and back in shape ready for my birthday weekend. And this, is where Slim Fast have kindly offered to step in, to give me a helping hand. Slim Fast* have challenged me to the #Slimfastchallenge using the 3-2-1 plan for two weeks, and anyone who knows me will know I love a good ol’ challenge.

The 3-2-1 plan is made for those of us that want weight loss to be easy, and it has proven to help thousands of us over the years with our weight loss goals. Out with the fad diets, and in with the 3-2-1 plan, and judging by the reactions this plan has had on Twitter, it really works. However, for me, and I’m sure this is the case for some of you, I need to put something to the test and see the results myself to conclude whether something actually works or not.

Combining meal replacement bars and shakes and allowing one 600 calorie meal a day (800 for men), the plan is made to have a healthy outlook to weight loss. In other words, it’s not one that requires you to cut your calorie intake down to an unhealthy amount. It is also not difficult to follow, as each product within the plan is labelled in accordance to the 3-2-1 plan rules. Each day you are allowed three snacks, which doesn’t need to be Slim Fast products – fruit or veggies can be counted as a snack, two meal replacements – consisting of Slim Fast bars or shakes, and one healthy balanced meal a day. For those who struggle with recipe ideas for the meal, there are tons of recipe ideas on the Slim Fast website website, or the 7 day plan with shopping list may be helpful. Slim Fast are looking to make weight loss easy and achievable.

The powder meal replacement shakes come in 5 different flavours, and are simple to whip up, you just need to add skimmed milk. This will help it taste better than most meal replacement shakes that only require water. Each shake is 230 calories, and is made up of a third of your daily allowance of vitamins. Slim Fast also do pre-mixed shakes which are easier to take with you on the go, so there’s no need to make sure your protein shake tumbler is thoroughly washed! The meal replacement bars are a substitute to full meals and are made to keep you full until your next meal. These bars are 210 calories, and again, provide a third of your daily allowance. The snacks are about 95 calories each, and are used to help reduce cravings, so with these ones, you can snack in between meals!

Right now I’m currently on day 2 of the challenge, and I’ve got to admit, it’s not easy! However, I’m not doing this challenge alone, there is so much support not just from Slim Fast, but from others taking the challenge. It’s nice to have that support community who are going through the same thing as you are, and know exactly how it feels! Catch up with me in two week’s time to see the results of the challenge!
